Q: How do I place a work order for an issue in my room or suite?

A: Place a work order online with Facilities Management. Be sure to specify your location as Los Angeles.

Q: Who do I call about the Internet or other technology problems?

A: Call the help desk at (617) 824-8080 or email helpdesk [at] emerson.edu and those requests will be routed to our local IT administrator.

Q: When can I use the Fitness Center?

A: The Fitness Center as well as the Yoga and Meditation room is open 24/7.

Q: Where do I get my mail?

A: Mail will be sorted and placed into the mailboxes by the Residence Life Office on the 4th floor. If a student has a package, they will receive a notification email with instructions about how they can pick up their package.

Q: Where can I print?

A: You can print free of charge on the 3rd floor printing lab. We don't charge for printing, but we ask that you provide your own paper. Note: abuse of printing will result in privileges being revoked.

Q: Where can I use my ELA Cash?

Every student receives $1,800 in ELA Cash as part of their Room and Board. You may use these funds at local merchants and on campus at vending machines and for laundry. Please note: there is no dining hall at Emerson LA. Eligible merchants include:

Q: How do I obtain a California driver’s license if I don’t already have a US driver’s license?

You can make an appointment with the California DMV.

We strongly suggest scheduling an appointment online in advance of your arrival. Please take care of obtaining a California driver’s license before your internship begins.

Q: How do I reserve space as a student?

Q: Where do my friends park when they come to visit?

A: There is very limited “visitor parking” available on the ground floor. There is no parking permitted on neighborhood streets by Emerson College students, faculty, and employees. There are local metered and pay parking lots in the area. Visiting guests should plan ahead.
