The Department of Performing Arts is pleased to offer in-person auditions and interviews as a part of our 2021-2022 application process. Due to COVID-19 safety precautions, we have implemented the following guidelines to prioritize the health of our staff, faculty, students and visitors. By scheduling an in-person Artistic Review you and those accompanying you are agreeing to abide by these Covid-19 Protocols.

Vaccination Requirement

If attending an in-person Artistic Review, all applicants and guests (1 guest allowed per applicant) will be required to show a valid ID and their vaccination cards as proof of full vaccination (meaning your final vaccination shot was 2+ weeks prior to your Artistic Review). Other forms of proof will not be accepted. All Emerson faculty, staff, and students are required to be fully vaccinated.

If you are not planning to be fully vaccinated please opt for a virtual Artistic Review.  We are offering virtual audition and interview dates in every phase of our application process - Early Action, Early Decision I & II, Regular Action, and our Transfer dates in April. The modality and location of your Artistic Review will have no bearing whatsoever on your admission decision.

Face Coverings

All staff, faculty, students, and visitors are required to wear 3-ply face coverings/masks, covering both their nose and mouth, for the duration of their time on campus. The only exception to this policy will be for performers during their actual audition.

Testing for Staff and Students

All Emerson faculty, staff, and students are tested on a weekly basis, with additional daily symptom checks.

COVID-19 Symptom Check for Visitors

All guests will be required to answer the following COVID-19 Symptom Check questions upon arrival:

  • Have you been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 in the past 14 days?
  • Are you experiencing any new fever > 100.0 degrees F?
  • Are you experiencing any chills?
  • Are you experiencing any new cough (new onset or worsening of chronic cough)?
  • Are you experiencing any new shortness of breath or difficulty breathing?
  • Are you experiencing any new fatigue?
  • Are you experiencing any new muscle or body aches?
  • Are you experiencing any new headache?
  • Are you experiencing any new loss of taste or smell?
  • Are you experiencing any new sore throat?
  • Are you experiencing any new congestion or runny nose?
  • Are you experiencing any new nausea or vomiting?
  • Are you experiencing any new diarrhea (3 loose stools or looser than normal stools in a 24 hr. period)?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, or if you or anyone in your traveling party or household tests positive for COVID-19, displays symptoms of COVID-19, or has been exposed to COVID-19 within two weeks of their scheduled visit, we ask that you please reschedule to a later audition/interview date in Acceptd.

We appreciate your understanding that COVID-19 safety precautions prevent us from welcoming large crowds to evens at this time. We ask that you depart promptly at the conclusion of your Artistic Review and after your questions have been answered.

Applicants are able to cancel or reschedule their audition/interview appointment in Acceptd up to midnight before their scheduled date. Please make use of this should you have any health or safety concerns.

Should it become unsafe to hold in-person auditions and interviews we would convert our in-person Artistic Reviews to virtual ones and would communicate this change to applicants as soon as possible.
