Brian McNeil is a visual artist who has been working in film, video, photography, painting and sculpture since 1980.  Prior to coming to Emerson in 1997 he was on the faculty of Dawson College, Montreal, Canada, where he taught photography at the Dawson Institute of Photography, the Institute for Imaging Arts and Technology and the Department of Graphic Design.

He was also on the faculty of College Marie-Victorin, where he taught Film Studies and the History of Photography.

Mr. McNeil has shown his work internationally and is in numerous private, governmental, academic and corporate collections.

He is currently playing soprano saxophone with colleague Andre Puca in their Bandajammers duo. At present Mr. McNeil is enriching his musical education by learning the guitar and bass.

In addition to playing music he is also known for his expertise as a bicycle mechanic where he builds single speed bikes.
