The Tap and Go Program is part of ECPD’s ongoing commitment to providing the safest possible environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests. All Emerson community members utilize their Emerson College ID cards to enter all campus buildings 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and all visitors require registration as a guest before one may enter college buildings.

The student’s residence hall guest sign-in process is managed through the Emerson College Housing Portal.

Staff, faculty members, and students may register guests for the academic buildings and spaces prior to their arrival on campus through the iVisitor Guest Registration. The host will enter the guest’s name, the host’s name, the building, and date and time of the visit. When the guest visits campus they must present a state/federal issued ID at the security desk. Once the guest is checked in the host will greet the Guest at the security desk and escort the guest throughout their stay on campus. Although the staff or faculty host should receive an email notification when a visitor arrives, the visitor may want to call the host prior to their arrival. Student visitors must call their student host prior to their arrival. Security will provide a guest badge to the host when they arrive to escort their registered guest.

Security Officers are not authorized to register any visitors in the college’s system, as all guests must be escorted their entire time on campus.
