Summer 2020 Courses

Fall 2020 Courses

  • March 4: Fall course listings published
  • March 9: Advising for the fall semester begins
  • March 30–April 6: Fall registration begins (see times below)
  • April 7: Registration closed
  • April 8: Registration re-opens. Eligible students may overload
  • May 1: Last day to join a waitlist
  • August 28: Waitlisting closed, all remaining students removed from waitlists

After the initial registration week (March 30–April 6) registration will be closed for 24 hours re-open April 8, at 12:00 am (ET). When the registration reopens, undergraduate students eligible to overload will be able to do so, and some major restrictions for undergraduate classes may be lifted (check course listings for any lifted restrictions).

All Emerson employees and spouses of employees enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student must first submit a Tuition Remission Form to Human Resources to participate in Spring registration. Employees who have submitted this will be able to register when the system re-opens Wednesday, April 8, at 12:00 am (ET).

Summer registration begins Monday, March 9 at 9:00 am (ET).  Registration closes once a course begins:

  • The last day to add or drop a Full Summer or Summer 1 course online is Sunday, May 17.
  • The last day to add or drop a Summer 2 course online is Monday, July 6.
  • If your course has not met yet but it's too late to drop it online, please contact us.

Summer course waitlists close Friday, April 10. Summer tuition is due Wednesday, April 15

All Emerson employees and spouses of employees enrolled must first submit a Tuition Remission Form for the Summer 2020 semester to Human Resources to participate in Summer 2020 courses.

Speech@Emerson summer registration begins March 16 at 9:00 am (ET).

Course Load

Undergraduate students may register for up to 16 credits over the entire summer term. Students wishing to register for more than 16 credits must petition to academicappeals [at] emerson.edu.

Graduate students may register for up to 12 credits over the entire summer term, including May Intersession. Students wishing to register for more than 12 credits must petition the Office of Graduate Studies.

Cost

Review the Summer tuition and fee information for undergraduates and graduates.

Full payment is due on April 15. Students with outstanding balances will be automatically dropped from their courses. If you add a course on or after April 15 your additional tuition balance must be paid by 11:59 (ET) of the same day or you will be automatically dropped.

Financial Aid

Financial aid may be available for summer courses; review information for graduate students or undergraduate students.

Summer Refund Policy

100% tuition refunds are available up until a course starts. You may drop a course online up until the day before the semester starts. After the start of the semester, online registration will be closed and all registration changes must be done through the Registrar's Office.

  • Courses may be dropped online for a full refund prior to the first day of class. If the summer session has started but your course has not met yet, you may drop the course by coming to the Registrar's Office or emailing registrar [at] emerson.edu from your Emerson email.
  • If a course has already met once, you are eligible for a 75% tuition refund.
  • If a course has already met twice, you are eligible for a 50% tuition refund.
  • If a course has already met three times you must withdraw.
  • Online courses with no set schedule are assumed to follow a Tuesday/Thursday 6:00 pm schedule for refund policy purposes.
