The Center offers individual appointments for students to meet with staff and discuss and review their own career path. We work with students to strategically engage in topics such as: resume and cover letter writing, interviewing and networking skill development, and searching for internships and jobs.

Information on these topics may also be presented through classroom settings and club and organization meetings.

1-on-1 Career Counseling

Students can connect with a member of our career counseling staff at any time throughout the year. Our office is available for appointments Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on any day other than official holidays.

Appointments can be scheduled for 30 minutes or 1 hour, depending on the topic. Appointment topics include:

  • Resume, cover letter, and portfolio review;
  • Interview preparation;
  • Job and/or internship search preparation and strategy;
  • Networking;
  • International student support;
  • Graduate student support.

All current students can schedule an appointment via Handshake. Prospective students should contact careers [at] emerson.edu with any questions.

Job & Internship Support

The Career Development Center provides Emerson students with numerous job and internship opportunities via Handshake.

Students are able to explore a variety of roles, updated daily by employers we have approved for posting. Using Handshake, students can access and apply to these opportunities while also having the chance to connect directly with prospective employers and other students using the platform.

Students seeking for-credit internship experiences are encouraged to visit our Internship Requirements page for more information on for-credit opportunities.
