Break periods on campus are Thanksgiving, Winter, Spring, and Summer. The residence halls officially close during breaks, however, a limited area within the halls remain open during Thanksgiving and Spring break for those students with extenuating circumstances.
Students seeking break housing must submit an application for consideration and may be required to relocate during these break periods. The application information is sent to each student's Emerson email. Students must be in good standing with The Office of Community Standards. If a student is approved to stay on campus during Thanksgiving or Spring break, there is no charge to the student.
Winter Break housing approval is reserved for those with significant extenuating circumstances with no other housing option. There is a charge for students during this break period, information regarding Winter Break Housing and cost is shared in the fall semester each year. Students must have a fall and spring booking to be considered for Winter Break Housing.
We offer summer housing for session 1 and session 2. Information on this will be available during the spring semester. There is a rate per each summer session that will be published when that application opens. To apply for Summer housing, a student must be a continuing, matriculated undergraduate or graduate student at Emerson College.
It is important to note that, during break periods, the meal plan is not in effect. This includes retail locations on campus. There is an adjusted guest policy during break periods, including no overnight guests.
