Office of Community Standards
The Office of Community Standards upholds the Code of Community Standards and all Emerson policies to create a safe and welcoming environment for all our community members to learn, live, and work. Guided by our commitment to education and functioning within an educational framework, Community Standards focuses on addressing harm, utilizing fair and transparent processes, and supporting all students in their learning both in and outside of the classroom. Our office provides opportunities for reflection and personal growth with processes designed to enhance learning through conversation and contemplation rather than through exclusion and punishment.
The Office is committed to balancing the needs of the student and greater campus community by upholding our community standards, responding to concerns, and working collaboratively to address the needs of our community. We provide all students with individualized opportunities for growth so that they may develop into engaged and ethical citizens.
