Career Services for Students
Career Services offers the following resources for undergraduate and graduate students at all stages of their career development.
eHire is our online job and internship database. Students can search for employment, internship, and volunteer opportunities as well as find employer contact information. Résumés and cover letters can be stored within the system for easy electronic access.
Students can find and register for all Career Services events on eHire such as the Internship Fair, Career Week, and many other workshops and information sessions.
Additionally, students can access the online Career Resource Library—an electronic collection of resource lists, résumé samples, industry guides, and more. Log onto eHire »
Individual Career Advising
Career counselors are available to discuss issues related to:
- Résumés and cover letters
- Internship information
- Job search strategies
- Career transition
- Selecting or changing majors
Contact us to schedule an individual career advising appointment. If you are unable to visit our office in person, you may request a telephone or Skype appointment.
Please forward a copy of your résumé and/or cover letter as well as other pertinent materials to firstname.lastname@example.org at least 24 hours prior to your telephone/Skype appointment.
Résumé and Cover Letter Review
To have your résumé and/or cover letter reviewed, please either schedule an individual appointment with one of our career counselors or visit our office during walk-in hours held Monday through Friday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm during the academic year.
Please remember to print a hard copy of your résumé or cover letter.
Career Services offers workshops throughout the academic year. Descriptions and times for all workshops are listed on the calendar found in eHire. Recurring topics include:

- Networking strategies
- Salary negotiation
The purpose of a mock interview is to practice going through the interviewing process, and as such, should be treated like a real interview. The participant should come appropriately dressed, arrive on time, and bring a copy of his/her résumé and cover letter.
To schedule a mock interview with one of our career counselors, please call the front desk at 617-824-8586, and specify you are looking to do a mock interview. Make sure to inform the staff whether or not you would like the interview to be recorded. Please note that you may be scheduled with a counselor you have not previously seen.

Students and alumni can join Emerson Connections to search for career professionals interested in facilitating mentoring relationships to share career building knowledge and industry connections.
The Board of Overseers Mentor Program is available to current freshman and sophomore students only. Students must complete an application in order to participate. The selected students are matched with individual mentors who will offer guidance and assistance to students in the early stages of their professional development.
Career Resource Library
The Career Resource Library is located at 216 Tremont Street, 6th Floor, and is open during business hours. Students can find many trade magazines, national industry directories, hundreds of career-related books, and industry resource guides for all Emerson majors.
