Emerson is located in the center of Boston's historic Theater District, and we are spoiled to have so much at the tips of our collective fingertips: theaters, Chinatown, Downtown Crossing (shopping), Newbury Street (people-watching), the Charles River, used record stores/clothing stores/anything stores, coffee houses, national and international businesses (where many students take the opportunity to engage in internships), and so much more.
You get the idea. If Boston were to declare a geographic and emotional heart, Emerson's location might well be it. Our “Campus on the Common” means you can play Frisbee on the same spot where William Blackstone built a cabin to house himself and his 200 books some 400 years ago. You can walk through the Public Garden, wave at the hardworking Swan Boat rowers, and still make it to your internship in the famous gold-domed State House with time to spare.
Boston has endless nooks and crannies for your intellect, a right-sized stage to test your talents and your mettle. You've got the T, great energy, international flair, cheap but nourishing food, and beaches where you can contemplate your place in the universe a mere rail ride away.
We love it here. When can you visit?
