Getting Involved

This is your chance. What have you always wanted to do? At Emerson, you can work on a music video, produce a weekly news show, create a marketing campaign for a real client, work on an international human rights campaign, and see your poetry in print. No need to choose only one path. All opportunities are open to all students, and we see the value in cross-training.

You won't find a roster of “co-curriculars” like Emerson's anywhere else - theatre groups, comedy groups, literary magazines, television and radio stations, community projects, to name but a few of our student-led (and initiated) activities. With countless outlets for your creativity and abilities, you will have plenty of opportunities to explore and get involved.

At Emerson, you get to do what you love (even if it lies outside your major) while you build a highly useful “life skills resume” (which includes artistic sensibilities, time management skills, a sense of humor and resilience, professional responsibility, and an uncanny stick-to-it-ness and focus) that seems to characterize all of us.

So what's it like to have your own show on one of the country's top-rated and most listened-to student radio stations? How much fun is it to be part of an improv performance group or promote a rising local band? Come to Emerson, and you'll tell us!
