Staff Bios

  • Christopher Grant

    Christopher Grant is an Associate Director in Enrollment Management at Emerson, focusing on pipeline programming. He has worked at Emerson for eight years in Undergraduate Admission and is a co-founder of emersonWRITES. He has been awarded the New England Association for College Admission Counseling IDEAL (Inclusion, Diversity, Education, Access and Leadership) Award at the NEACAC 2014 Annual Meeting & Conference.
  • Mary Kovaleski Byrnes

    Mary Kovaleski Byrnes is a senior lecturer in the WLP Department, and a poet and travel writer. Her work has appeared in numerous publications and anthologies, including the Four Way Review, Poets & Artists Poet Lore, th Boston Globe, Best of Kore Press, Best of the Net, and PANK. She is a co-founder of emersonWRITES and currently serves as the curriculum coordinator. She holds degrees from Emerson College (MFA, '10) and the University of Mary Washington (BA, '02).
  • Adena Smith

    Adena Smith

    Adena Smith is an Associate Director in the Office of Student Success at Emerson. Previously, Adena was the Senior Administrative Associate in Enrollment Management and coordinated pipeline programming, including the newly created emersonWRITES program. Before working at Emerson, Adena spent over two years opening and then managing a café and spent time as a book conservation assistant at Harvard College’s Widener Library. Adena has a BA in Studio Art from Swarthmore College.
