1. Learn about the Application Process

Freshmen Applicant
Apply as a freshmen if you are currently a high school student, or if you have graduated from high school and have taken fewer than 9 college credits, or if you have not yet gone to college. Please note that Performing Arts majors may only apply for a fall start term.
- Early Action is for students who consider Emerson their first choice and are prepared to apply by November 1. Students applying to Performing Arts majors that require auditions should also be able to audition during one of the Early Action audition dates. If you will audition after the first of the year, please apply Regular Decision.
- Regular Decision is for students who are strongly considering Emerson, but would like until January 5 to complete an application. Spring applicants should apply by November 1.
Transfer Applicant
Apply as a transfer student if you are currently enrolled at a college or university and you will complete 9 or more college credits prior to your desired start term at Emerson. Please note that transfer students may apply for Performing Arts majors except for BFA Acting or BFA Musical Theatre.
- Transfer students may apply for Regular Decision by November 1 for spring admission and March 15 for fall admission. Applications are considered on a space-available basis after these priority deadlines.

International Applicant
Follow the process for international students if you do not have U.S. citizenship, dual-U.S. citizenship, or permanent residency. There are special credential guidelines for international applicants, and additional information is required of international students who are offered admission.
2. Submit the Common Application and Emerson College Supplement

We require that the Common Application, Emerson College Supplement, and $65 application fee are submitted before we can begin to review your application. You will receive an application acknowledgement via email once these three application components have been submitted. You will also receive acknowledgement via email when your application becomes complete.
3. Submit Supporting Credentials

4. Check the Status of Your Application Credentials
Within 1 week of submitting your application, you will receive an email from Emerson College with an Emerson ID. You can use your Emerson ID and date of birth to log into the Application Portal to determine whether your application is complete or incomplete.
Please keep in mind that it may take up to 2 weeks for credentials to show in our system after they have been received. Materials that are postmarked by the appropriate application deadline will be considered on time. Feel free to contact us if your application materials do not show in the Application Portal within 2 weeks.

6. Watch for Updates from Emerson College
We will send you information to the mailing address and email address listed on your application. Please make sure to check your mail and email so that we can provide you with important updates. We also ask that you update your email settings to allow correspondence from admission@emerson.edu. Remember that if you opt out of emails from Emerson College, you may miss important deadline reminders!
7. Decision Notification
