
We have put together some information for you as you prepare to begin your graduate studies at Emerson. Please also see the Guide to Enrolling in Graduate Studies.
Summer advising and registration will be done by telephone and e-mail with your Graduate Program Director (GPD). After you and your GPD discuss your schedule, he or she will register you for your classes. (All future semester registrations will be done by you via the Web).
You will be sent instructions about coordinating an advising time with your GPD in mid-July. Students who do not participate in summer advising and registration will be advised and registered during Graduate Student Orientation.
Graduate Student Orientation will be held on Thursday, September 4 and Friday, September 5, 2008. Attendance is mandatory. More details including a schedule will be sent to you mid-summer, and posted on our website.
International students must attend the International Student Orientation which will be held on Wednesday, September 3. All international students must attend Student orientation on September 3 and the Graduate Student Orientation on September 4 & 5. More details will be emailed to you in mid-July and posted to our website.
Each summer Off-Campus Student Services hosts three Apartment and Roommate Finding Workshops. The workshops are held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and are located in the Bordy Theater at 216 Tremont Street.

These day-long, in-person events offer the opportunity for students to learn about their rights and responsibilities as a tenant, about Boston and its many neighborhoods, and about relevant paperwork to secure housing. Sessions will include opportunities for you to meet with other students looking for an apartment and/or roommates. The information and materials presented at each of the three sessions will be identical. Please review the Summer Workshop Brochure and RSVP for a session by returning the OCSS Workshop Response Form (2nd page). The Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority's (MBTA) Semester Pass Program enables you to take advantage of a savings on bus, subway and commuter rail monthly transit passes. Please see the new 2008 MBTA Zone and Pricing Information page for pricing details.
To enroll in the program, you will need to complete an MBTA Fall 2008 Semester Pass Program Order Form . The enrollment deadline for the Fall 2008 MBTA T-Pass Program is Wednesday, August 6th. For more information, please see the OCSS website.
