Course registration for fall enrollment is specific for each individual graduate program.

Communication Disorders (MS)
All incoming Fall 2012 graduate students will be pre-registered for the Fall semester during June by the Graduate Program Director, Sandy Cohn Thau. Registration will be based on the final transcripts on file in the Office of Graduate Admission.
- Students must submit official final transcripts for all courses taken to the Office of Graduate Admission by June 10. Students who applied using CSDCAS must submit official transcripts from all institutions to Emerson’s Office of Graduate Admission. Questions concerning transcripts should be addressed to gradapp@emerson.edu.
- Students must email their plans (where and when) for completing any remaining prerequisite courses to Sandra_Cohn_Thau@emerson.edu.
- Students must submit documentation of all the clinical observation hours completed in conjunction with a CSD course or program to Phyllis Meyers, Emerson College, CSD Department, 120 Boylston Street, Boston, MA 02116.
After registration is processed, students will receive their schedules and drop/add information via email before they arrive on campus at orientation. Moreover, students will receive a packet from the Office of Accounts Management which will include student billing information. Pre-registration will be done for Fall 2012 only. For subsequent semesters, students will receive instructions on how to register.

Communication Management (MA)
All incoming Fall 2012 graduate students will be pre-registered for the Fall semester during June by the Graduate Program Director, Phillip Glenn.
- Each course is four credits. Students who take two or more courses are considered full-time students.
- Many graduate students pursue our master’s degree while working full-time; in such cases, taking more than two courses is not advisable.
- For students who plan to solely focus on full-time study, taking a third class is appropriate.

In total, 40 credits are needed for completion of the program. Below are suggestions for taking one, two, or three courses during the Fall 2012 semester.
- All incoming graduate students should take the required core course Communication Management Research Methods, CC 645.

Each student should also select one of the two following courses, depending on the chosen concentration:
- Concentration 1: Human Resources & Employee Communication: Human Resources, CC638
- Concentration 2: Public Relations & Stakeholder Communications: Stakeholder Relations and Communication, CC648
- Students may also take a third elective course. A full list of options will be posted here when available, usually by mid-April.

Creative Writing (MFA)
All incoming graduate students for Fall 2012 will be pre-registered for the Fall semester during June by the Graduate Program Director, Frederick Reiken.
- Incoming students are advised to take at least two courses during the first semester.
- Students who opt to only take one course will be designated a part-time student.
After registration is processed, students will receive their schedules and drop/add information via email before they arrive on campus at orientation. Moreover, students will receive a packet from the Office of Accounts Management which will include student billing information. Pre-registration will be done for Fall 2012 only. For subsequent semesters, students will receive instructions on how to register.

Global Marketing Communication and Advertising (MA)

Integrated Marketing Communication (MA)
All incoming graduate students for Fall 2012 will automatically be registered in MK610 Marketing Management. Students who wish to add one or two additional courses (MK604 Research Methods and/or MK617 Consumer Behavior) will be able to add them during the summer, when they will hear from the IMC Graduate Program Director.
Journalism (MA)
All incoming graduate students for Fall 2012 must contact the Graduate Program Director, Manny Paraschos, to register for courses. Incoming students who register after August 15 must register in person.

All incoming graduate students in broadcast and print & multimedia journalism must take two courses:

JR 600: Writing, Reporting Across the Media
- Section 1 meets from 10:00 am–12:00 pm Tuesday and Thursday with a lab from 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Friday.
- Section 2 meets from 10:00 am–12:00 pm Monday and Wednesday with a lab from 12:00 pm-2:00 pm on Friday.

JR 601: News and Society
- Students who have completed undergraduate coursework related to the history and principles of journalism can request to waive the JR 601 requirement. In order to waive JR 601, JR606 and/or JR615/6. In order to waive any of these courses, students must submit a syllabus or relevant course description to Professor Paraschos.

Media Art (MFA)
All new graduate students for Fall 2012 will be pre-registered for the Fall semester during June by the Graduate Program Director, Jan Roberts-Breslin.
- In order to register for courses, incoming students must schedule a telephone academic advising appointment with Jan Roberts-Breslin. Please contact the program director via email at Jan_Roberts_Breslin@emerson.edu. Academic advising appointments will in early to mid June.
- MFA students are expected to take 3 courses per semester.

Publishing and Writing (MA)
All new graduate students for Fall 2012 will be pre-registered for the Fall semester during June by Professor John Rodzvilla.
- Assistantships: Incoming students who were assigned assistantships will be contacted by the department by early September.
- Internships: Incoming student interested in internships must contact Career Services or email the department's internship coordinator Gian Lombardo.
- Computer purchases: Students interested in purchasing a computer or software at a discounted price should review Emerson’s discounted purchasing information online.
- Emerson Email: Once students submit their enrollment deposit, they will receive an email detailing how to set up an ECNet account and emerson.edu email account. Incoming students are advised to check their ECNet account regularly.

Theatre Education (MA)
All new graduate students for Fall 2012 will be pre-registered for the Fall semester during June by the Graduate Program Director, Robert Colby.
- There are two tracks through the program, the Theatre Educator track and the Theatre and Community track.
- Students can access all the details about theatre education graduate program requirements in the Graduate Catalog.
