Weather contingency plan for Emerson College Auditions 2/8-2/10 and Interviews 2/8
Winter Storm Nemo has arrived in Boston and it is a significant storm. However, we know that many students who have signed up for auditions this weekend are already in Boston hotels. For this reason we will hold auditions for those who have travelled to be with us and are able to be on campus without risk.
We encourage anyone who is not at an area hotel to reschedule your portfolio review or audition. We know how important this is to you and that you have prepared for this time with us, but your safety is our utmost priority. In addition, the governor of Massachusetts has signed an executive order banning vehicles on all roadways and public transportation is shut down in the Boston area.
For those of you who are not able to come into Boston this weekend we will work with you to reschedule your time with us. Your ability or inability to be on campus this weekend in now way affects how we view your potential for success in the Performing Arts department.
We encourage you to make decisions regarding your own travel plans and urge you to prioritize your safety and exercise caution.
The Performing Arts faculty will be on campus to accommodate the following schedule:
Auditions, although divided into time blocks depending on the performance major, will run at the following times:
- on Friday from 5pm-9pm
- on Saturday 9am-1pm & 2pm-6pm
- on Sunday from 9am-1pm & 2pm-6pm
If you are unable to attend your scheduled time, please feel free to show up for another time during our auditions this weekend. If you are unable to travel to Boston this weekend due to weather, we will be offering make-up auditions as follows:
- Saturday, February 16th
- Sunday, February 17th
- Additional days if possible TBD
You'll be able to reschedule by logging into our Application Portal and accessing Stagedoor. All new dates will be available online as soon as possible. If you know you will not make your audition this weekend, please log in to Stagedoor and cancel – there is no need to call and inform us of your cancellation or lateness.
In the extremely unlikely event that we are forced to cancel interviews and auditions, we will post cancellation information in the following places:
- on the homepage of our website, http://www.emerson.edu
- on the Emerson College telephone weather bulletin, 617-824-8500, option #2
- on the outgoing voicemail of the Department of Performing Arts, 617-824-4780
