Media Studies Track (BA)
The Media Studies (BA) track is designed for students whose focus is the scholarly study of the media arts—especially those students desiring preparation for careers in media criticism, publishing, and industry research, or for advanced studies in the media arts or the law.
Visual and Media Arts Foundations (12 credits)
The Visual and Media Arts Foundations offers students a broad theoretical, historical, and practical introduction to the visual and media arts.

Visual and Media Arts Theory and Practice (8 credits)
|VM 200||Media Criticism and Theory|
|One 200-level production or writing course (4 credits)|
Visual and Media Studies (16 credits minimum)
At least one of the following:
|VM 402||Seminar in Media Arts Topics|
|VM 409||Seminar in Western Art|
|VM 410||Seminar in Non-Western Art|
In addition to a Seminar course, students are required to complete at least three additional advanced visual and media arts studies courses from the following: VM 300-315, 400-418, 498, 500-519.
Visual and Media Arts Electives (8 credits)
|Two Visual and Media Arts elective courses (up to 4 credits Internship)|
In addition to the General Education and major requirements, all students are required to complete at least two courses at the 300 or 400 level from the following Liberal Arts areas:
