Department of Visual & Media Arts
Radio (BA, BFA)
The specialization in Radio is intended to provide students with a background in the business and production of radio programming. In addition to conventional radio formats and uses, students can also explore the development of new and alternative radio programming distribution channels, including Internet and satellite. Students also have the opportunity to earn non-tuition credits working in significant positions for WERS-FM or WECB-AM.

Visual and Media Arts Foundations (12 credits)
The Visual and Media Arts Foundations offers students a broad theoretical, historical, and practical introduction to the visual and media arts.

Advanced Visual and Media Arts Workshop
Students may apply to take the Advanced Visual and Media Arts Workshop. Two semesters are mandatory for BFA. Optional for BA.

WERS, Emerson's radio station
WERS (88.9 FM) is Emerson College's award-winning radio station. Student-run and professionally managed, it serves New England an eclectic mix of musical genres and more live performances than any other station in the region.

Equipment Distribution Center
The Equipment Distribution Center's State-of-the-Art Equipment
The Emerson College Equipment Distribution Center (EDC) loans professional, state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to faculty and students to fulfill class assignments. Professional staff and student employees are available to provide technical support when needed. It includes the Film Equipment Center and the Video, Audio, New Media Equipment Centers.
