Emerson's largest theater, the Cutler Majestic Theatre is a 100-year old house located in the heart of Boston’s Theatre District.

Emerson College owns more performance space than any other institution in Boston.

The performance and production spaces utilized by the Department of Performing Arts include the newly renovated Paramount Center, which houses a 590-seat art deco theater, the Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre, a scene shop, rehearsal studios, and practice rooms; the Cutler Majestic Theatre, a beaux-arts 1,200-seat proscenium house built in 1903; and the Tufte Performance and Production Center, which includes the Semel Theater, a 216-seat thrust stage, the Greene Theater, a 106-seat end stage theater, a makeup and design suite, design technology studio, and costume shop.
