Theatre Education (MA)
The Master of Arts in Theatre Education program is for students who want to work at the intersection of education and theater. Our graduates have gone on to become theater teachers, community educators, directors, and playwrights, while others have gone on to pursue doctoral degrees.
Our curriculum emphasizes practical experience through internships and teaching opportunities at schools, museums, and other cultural organizations in Boston. In addition to helping direct, stage manage, and design for Emerson theater productions, students can also choose to earn their initial licensure in Massachusetts as teachers of theatre for pre-kindergarten through 12th grade.
