Standardized Testing – The Musical!!!!
Book, Music, and Lyrics by Sam Wilmott
Directed by Stephen Terrell
Eight students wield their sharpened No. 2s and sit down to fill in the bubbles of the standardized test that will define their academic lives. The students expose their most personal concerns and aspirations, work through their teenage angst, and build and destroy friendships, all while singing and dancing their way through the test.

Emerson Stage and Performing Arts are hosting a gathering of regional directors who work at the high school level to meet and talk with a panel of practitioners from Emerson College to share best practices, new ideas and help them form a community. We are inviting a limited number (20-25) to the 2:00 pm performance of Standardized Testing - The Musical on Saturday, December 1 free of charge followed by a 90 minute focused discussion about the issues, logistical concerns or any issues they face and would like to discuss.
Participating from Emerson College will be a mix of faculty, staff and possibly advanced level students in the areas of direction, production, design, stage management, sets, lights, costumes, marketing and management. Our goal is to gather this group, help them find a community and use Emerson College as a resource for efficiency and advancement in their work. Discussion will include the challenges of directing a musical at the high school level, as well as other questions and concerns of those attending. We will serve refreshments following the 90-minute performance of Standardized Testing - The Musical!!!!.
