Sheldon Toplitt

Attorney/journalist/blogger and veteran law & journalism instructor at area universities and colleges.

Toplitt teaches Introduction to Communications, Politics & Law, and previously has taught The First Amendment at Emerson. He has taught Media Law and news writing courses at Boston University since 1997. He also teaches business law at Lasell College. Previously, he has taught law and journalism at Northeastern University and Bridgewater State University, among other institutions. 

He is an experienced litigator admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has worked as a newspaper and magazine journalist and editor, including for the American Bar Association. He writes The Unruly of Law blog and is co-author of the Massachusetts Bar Association report on Crisis in Court Funding (2010).
