Simpson to receive honorary degree and start residency at Museum of African American History

Journalism Department Leader-in-Residence Carole Simpson, a veteran journalist and longtime weekend anchor of ABC World News Tonight, will be awarded an honorary degree Saturday, May 22, at Salem State College's Commencement ceremony for her professional and personal contributions to journalism .
Simpson has also been named journalist-in-residence at the Museum of African American History in Boston and on Nantucket. During her residency there, she will be hosting programs and conducting interviews, which will stream on WGBH's website.
The Museum of African American History is dedicated to preserving, conserving, and accurately interpreting the contributions of African Americans in New England from the colonial period through the 19th century.
