Professor West Hits the (Key) Notes

Richard West, Chair of the Department, delivered the keynote address at the Ohio Communication Association's 74th annual convention on October 1. West's speech focused on the value of collaboration and co-authorship in research. He also participated in the Student2Scholar sessions, working one-on-one with undergraduate students who submitted their research for comment.
Faculty experts can comment on the upcoming 2013 Boston mayoral race as well as a range of political stories, including initial coverage and ongoing developments leading up to the Massachusetts gubernatorial race in November 2014.
Dr. Angela N. Hosek and her colleague Dr. Rebecca DiVerniero received the Top Paper Award (out of 155 papers submitted) for their project titled, "Twitter as a Classroom Tool: Exploring the Use, Benefits, and Downfalls from the Perspectives of Instructors and Students," from the Human Communication and Technology Division. Dr. Hosek was also on the Top Panel for the Basic Course Division. Both took place at the National Communication Association Annual Meeting in November.
