Kasteel Well

A restored 14th-century medieval castle is home to Emerson’s semester abroad program. Kasteel Well is a national historical monument that provides living accommodations, classrooms, a resource center, and related facilities. Located in southeastern Holland near the German border, Kasteel Well is approximately two hours from Düsseldorf, Amsterdam, and Brussels, and five hours from Paris, Milan, and Madrid.

The program, which is designed for sophomores and juniors, strives to integrate classroom lectures with the combination of independent travels and mandatory academic excursions to cities such as Florence, Berlin, or London, guided by experienced academic faculty, and exposing students to the rich artistic, historical, and cultural heritage of these European cities.

Using Europe as a platform to enhance and enrich learning, Kasteel Well is an unrivaled program for undergraduates.
