State-of-the-art Newsroom & Production Center

Our Journalism Production Center gives you hands-on experience working with network-grade news production tools. Our seasoned faculty train you in crafting a news story from beginning to end using our Control Room and Studio, The Newsroom, Evolving Media Suite, Multimedia Suite, and our Post Production Editing Suites. 

CreativityKit

Emerson’s Journalism Department provides you with a CreativityKit starting day one of your program. The CreativityKit ensures you have access to and training on the latest journalistic hardware and software needed to create professional multimedia stories. As breaking news can occur at any moment, whether you’re inside or outside of the newsroom, you will be prepared to develop, write and produce stories on the go with the best industry-standard tech available on the market. 

Software

Emerson College completely subsidizes the CreativityKit software, defraying $1,300 in costs to you, including:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, etc.) will be loaded to your personal MacBook or PC upon matriculation to Emerson College 
  • Final Cut Pro is available on request for Apple users

  • Nikkor 18-55 VR Lens
  • Tripod, bag, cables, mics, stabilizer, power adapters, filters, and caps
