Melissa is an actor and teaching artist with expertise in training the speaking voice. She has studied under the mentorship of world-renowned voice teacher, Kristin Linklater, and is a Designated Linklater Voice Teacher. She is a founding member of the Linklater Voice Centre in Orkney, Scotland. Melissa is currently training in a 3-year professional program with the Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute. 

In addition to teaching actors-in-training at Emerson, Melissa regularly teaches in the intensive training programs at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts. Melissa has also in the Opera Studies Department at The Boston Conservatory. She teaches and coaches actors regularly on many of Boston's stages including Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and the Actor's Shakespeare Project, and has appeared as an actor most recently at New Repertory Theatre, Gloucester Stage Company, and Stoneham Theatre. Melissa is a member of the Actors' Equity Association, and the Voice and Speech Trainers Association.
