Regarding Supreme Court and DACA

On June 18, 2020, the Supreme Court (5-to-4) rejected the U.S. administration's attempt to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. We stand by Dreamers and welcome them to study here at Emerson College. If you have DACA status or are Undocumented, please reach out to an Admission counselor for additional information.

Federal changes to DACA will have no impact on the financial aid awards of current students who are undocumented or have DACA status. Awards are and will continue to be based on individual students' calculated need as determined by the aid application process, and will not be affected by the expiration of DACA status or Social Security Numbers. Since students with DACA status and students who are undocumented do not qualify for federal financial aid, we advise that these students do not complete the FAFSA.

Undergraduate students should contact the Office of Financial Aid each year to apply for institutional aid.

Graduate students who have been awarded Emerson institutional aid (fellowships or scholarships) and meet the criteria for renewal of those awards do not need to complete a financial aid application. Graduate student questions about fellowships and scholarships should be directed to Graduate Admission.
