Crisis Resources by State

If you located in Massachusetts and are in crisis and need urgent support, you can call ECAPS at 617-824-8595 during any of our open hours (Monday through Friday 8:45 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). For after-hours Crisis Service, talk to a therapist by calling 617-824-8595 and press 1, call 911, or go to your local emergency room. Our Emergency Situations website also has additional resources.

Listed below are crisis lines, other resources, and phone numbers listed alphabetically by state.

At the end of the list, there are additional national and local hotlines, as well as resources for specific populations.

  • NOTE: Some of the links to Crisis Lines By County are from a website that does not consistently list the date that the lines were listed or updated; this may mean that some lines are outdated. The National Crisis Lines (1-800-273-8255, 1-800-784-2433) ARE likely the most reliable resource to refer to in the event that some of the smaller county crisis lines are no longer active or have not been recently updated.
  • TEXT CRISIS LINES: Send “HOME” to 741741, or send the name/abbreviation of the state you are in currently.
