Developed Images

Emerson’s only creative black and white photography magazine that showcases the talents of students. Developed Images is published annually and will accept submissions from anyone in the Emerson community.

em magazine is Emerson's only lifestyle magazine dedicated to providing the student body with interesting and informative articles written by and for Emerson students. We cover everything from looks and relationships to features, fitness, entertainment and Emerson news. Currently online, em magazine is planning on going into print in the near future.

Emerson Review

This award-winning literary magazine is edited by undergraduates and issued biannually. It includes short stories, poetry, articles, and reviews by students, as well as work s solicited from graduate students, faculty and guest authors.

Gangsters In Concrete

Gangsters in Concrete is a biannual student publication that encourages experimentation, exploration, and enthusiasm in the writing and reading of poetry and prose. Gangsters also sponsors workshops, seminars and readings.

Gauge Magazine

gauge is a student run, design-oriented magazine completely produced by and for Emerson College students. Its goal is not only to incorporate the various fields of study offered at Emerson into a singular publication, but to also push the boundaries of the magazine format.

Hyena

Emerson’s humor magazine, Hyena, was founded in 1979. It is one of the outlets open to the Emerson community for humor, both written and visual. All types of positions are available and anyone interested in humor, publishing, and printing should contact the Hyena via their mailbox in the Student Union.

Latent Image

The purpose of Latent Image is to promote discussion and criticism of the artistic and technical medium of film. The organization produces a Film Journal, hosts an Oscar Party and a student Film Festival.

Lauph

This is a comedy publication specializing in long-form humor essays and workshops for comedy writers. Open auditions for writers artists, photographers and layout are held annually.

Stork Magazine

Recognized in the Spring of 2005, Stork is an annual fiction journal dedicated to demystifying the publishing process and improving student writing. Stork is founded on the idea of communication between editor and writer and provides an outlet for budding writers to take their work to the next level.

Undergraduate Students For Publishing

 The purpose of Undergraduate Students for Publishing is to educate Emerson undergraduates about careers in publishing by inviting professionals to engage in discussion with students about their work. The club will host panels of professionals to speak about their specific job and give students advice on how to start their own career in publishing. In addition to this, the executive members will hold informational meetings to teach members the publishing vocabulary, give them resources on the publishing world, and generally keep them aware of the current events of the business.

UWN

UWN focuses on the writing community at Emerson and serves as a liaison between Emerson writers and the Writing, Literature, and Publishing Department’s faculty and staff. UWN strives to keep students aware of community readings, slams, workshops, and seminars. Meetings include writing exercises and workshops. UWN also sponsors multi-genre readings and slams, an annual multi-art festival called Noise Vision, and publishes a member Zine, “Dreaming of Rhubarb.”

Graduate Reading Series

The Graduate Reading Series is organized by a dedicated group of grad students in the Writing, Literature, & Publishing department. They feature MFA and MA students from the department reading from their most recent works.

Redivider

Redivider (formerly Beacon Street Review) is Emerson's graduate-student-run national literary magazine. A journal of new literature, Redivider publishes work by new and established writers in all genres including poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, and drama, along with reviews, interviews, and occasional recipes. Published twice yearly, new issues appear each winter and spring. Submissions are welcome year-round.

Students For Publishing

Emerson's Students for Publishing is a new group. Officially recognized in the spring of 2004, the organization was founded with the mission to create learning and networking opportunities centered on publishing. While the group has at its core students in the publishing graduate program, all students interested in publishing are encouraged to take part in the organization and its events.
