Emerson Closed

The College will be closed today, Monday, February 8 for day and evening classes. 

Due to National Weather Service predictions for hazardous conditions beginning mid-morning, the College is closing for the safety of our campus community and employees.

The College’s dining facilities will be open and operating on a normal schedule.  The Iwasaki Library will be open until 11pm.

Mo Flam

Mo has worked as a Chief Lighting Technician for over 35 years and has worked on more than 70 feature films. His interest in filmmaking started by making Super 8 surfing movies and environmental documentaries. Mo also teaches Feature Film Lighting at the Maine Media Workshops and the Dawn Workshops in Ireland

While at Columbia, Mo started an internship with Hart Perry, Cinematographer of Harlan County USA. This led to many opportunities in the early eighties, including working on documentaries and feature films with Tom Sigel in both the US and Central America. Mo had the privilege of working with many great cinematographers including Michael Ballhaus, Haskell Wexler, Andrew Lesnie and John Toll, allowing him to learn lighting and Cinematography from some of the most knowledgeable craftspeople in the business.

Mo has worked on ten films with Academy Award winning Cinematographer John Seale. Mo also had the privilege of working with Anthony Minghella on 4 films, including The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley and Cold Mountain. Recently Mo worked on Black Mass starring Johnny Depp. He has also shot feature films, several shorts and many commercials. For more info see his IMDB page.
