Emerson Closed

The College will be closed today, Monday, February 8 for day and evening classes. 

Due to National Weather Service predictions for hazardous conditions beginning mid-morning, the College is closing for the safety of our campus community and employees.

The College’s dining facilities will be open and operating on a normal schedule.  The Iwasaki Library will be open until 11pm.

Doris "Granny D" Haddock

Known nationally for her political activism, including a run for U.S. Senate, Emerson honorary degree recipient and alumna Doris ("Granny D") Haddock embarked on a 3,200-mile walk across the United States at the age of 90 to bring attention to the issue of campaign finance reform. She returned to Emerson in 2000 to receive an honorary degree recognizing her political activism. She died March 9 in her Dublin, New Hampshire, family home. She was 100 years old.
