As a public service to the community, the production unit also provides creative and video production services to non-profit community organizations.
In the past several years Emerson Productions has produced 26 episodes of Capitol Perspective with Senator Edward Kennedy, a forum for discussion with community leaders to highlight local and national issues that affect the people of Massachusetts. Several of these programs have won national awards:

Capitol Perspective airs on over 200 public access cable stations across the state and streamed on the WGBH Forum Network.
In its efforts to expand Emerson's reach and reflect the talent and knowledge of its faculty, students, and staff, Emerson Productions also seeks partnerships with outside broadcasting, film, and other media organizations for both the production and distribution of new content, including original television and radio programs and World Wide Web services.
