Pete Chvany Scholarship
It’s the end of an important era at Emerson College: Pete Chvany retired May 7, 2010.
Pete has worn many hats at Emerson, including: film faculty member, soccer coach, EVVYs and EIV advisor, editing supervisor, and most importantly, mentor. We honored Pete’s devotion to Emerson with a farewell reception and a soccer game during Alumni Weekend. In addition, Emerson has established the Pete Chvany Scholarship to ensure that his legacy lives on by providing financial assistance to students with a commitment to the areas of interest that he championed.

About the Scholarship
The Pete Chvany Scholarship has been established to pay tribute to an Emerson College faculty and staff member whose inspirational guidance was legendary throughout the school. Pete Chvany has served the College and its students for more than two decades in numerous roles, from professor and advisor to staff member and coach. His ability to nurture students, to foster potential, and to push for excellence helped launch many careers.
This scholarship is established to recognize his unique contribution and to carry on that tradition.
Scholarships will be awarded to full-time returning juniors or seniors who have demonstrated a passion and commitment to student activities, with preference for those involved in one or more of such groups as: EVVYs, EIV, WEBN, FPS, or EmComm. Preference is also to be given to students with financial need caused by change in family circumstances. Your gift honors Pete and maintains his legacy of inspiration, commitment, and loyalty. Thank you.
