Free for the Weekend, a campus-wide collaborative event, will take place January 29 - February 1, 2009! This year marks the 13th annual Free for the Weekend at Emerson College! Keep an eye out for a listing of FTTW 2010 events – coming soon!
Free For the Weekend is an event where students, staff, and faculty are challenged to experience a weekend free of alcohol, drugs or other addictive substances and/or behaviors, and in exchange gain access to a variety of fun programs and events. At the sign-up table, participants sign a challenge to be substance free for the weekend. A T-shirt, a program detailing the week’s events, and other great free gifts will be distributed. The mission of Free For the Weekend is to provide the Emerson community with a weekend focused on education, resources and activities for living a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
During FREE FOR THE WEEKEND, students, staff and faculty pledge to experience a weekend free of alcohol, drugs or other addictive substances and/or behaviors to gain access to a variety of fun programs and events.

Find Your Buddy: Speech/Comedy Workshop
4:30p.m.—Multipurpose Room, First Floor Campus Center
Matt Bellace, Ph.D has been a youth motivational speaker and comedian since 1995. Dr. Bellace is a member of the National Speakers Association and a regular at comedy clubs in NYC. Take this unique opportunity to converse with Matt about developing a comedy routine that is funny AND carries a positive message.

2 Performances: 7:30p.m. and 9p.m.- Cabaret, Lower Level Little Building
His "How to Get High, Naturally" program encourages over a hundred thousand of students per year to pursue natural highs and make healthy choices. Matt was a recurring comedian on truTV's "The Smoking Gun Presents." His stand up can be heard -and requested- on Sirius and XM Satellite Radio's Comedy Channels.
