Family Weekend
Family Weekend 2008 is scheduled to run from Friday, October 17 through Sunday, October 19, 2008.
Emerson families will have complete freedom in choosing which weekend events they will be attending and/or purchasing tickets for through the online registration process which will be available through this site in the Summer of 2008.
2008’s Family Weekend events will begin on Friday, October 17th. A registration station will open mid-afternoon on Friday followed by a special evening event. Registration stations will be available throughout the weekend.
Saturday morning, the 19th will tentatively consist of a continental breakfast and an official "Welcome" on the part of our event coordinators and guest speakers. Following the morning’s activities will be an optional series of "Mini College" classroom sessions. On Saturday night, families will be invited to join us for a dessert reception followed by the annual "Family Weekend Talent Showcase."
Sunday, the 19th will offer up the popular President's Breakfast in conjunction with our closing ceremonies and farewells.

Family Weekend 2008 Accommodations
We have arranged for special reduced "Family Weekend" rates with many of our neighboring hotels. Rates vary by hotel and range from $229 - $309 per room. Make your reservations with any of the following being sure to tell the reservations agent that you are a part of Emerson College’s Family Weekend!

Family Weekend 2008 Registration
The registration process for Emerson College’s 47th annual Family Weekend, “Sharing Stories” is now available. Please read all of the information on this page prior to registering. Relatives and friends of all ages are welcome to be a part of your family’s registration. There is a non-refundable registration fee of $12 per family group to participate in our event offerings. Any and all guests included in your party are covered by this registration fee.
In order to register, you will need the following:
- Your Emerson College student’s ID number. Please ask that your student share this with you.
- Access to an active checking account (so as to complete an online electronic check.)
Or - A valid VISA credit card in order to complete your online order.
- If you need to complete your registration by mail, please see the instructions below for paying with a money order.
Online Registration
The online registration process for Emerson College’s 47th annual Family Weekend, “Sharing Stories” will is now available. The online registration process is the best and most effective way to register and to ensure that your order for ticketed events will be filled. Registration by Mail
If you are unable to complete the registration process on-line, you may download a mail-in Family Weekend 2008 Registration Form and mail it in along with your money order. Since there is an extremely high demand for tickets submitting your registration by mail before the deadline does not guarantee that tickets will be available at the time your request is received.
Mail-in registrations for Family Weekend 2008 must include your completed Family Weekend Registration Form and a money order made payable to: “Emerson College Family Weekend 2008”. Mail-in registrations should be directed to:

Registration Deadline
Your family’s registration must be completed and all requests for Family Weekend tickets received by Friday, August 1st, 2008. Ticketed Family Weekend events may sell out. In order to be fair, orders are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Non-Refundable Registration Fee
There is a non-refundable registration fee of $12 per family to participate in our event offerings. This fee allows your family access to all of our free events and includes your Family Weekend Welcome Pack and family name badges. Family Weekend is a self-funded event. Your registration fee covers the cost of overhead expenses, including publications, postage, registration materials, space and equipment rentals, and the non-ticketed events and activities offered during the weekend. Event fees are kept to a minimum; the weekend is designed to cover its costs.
Cancellations/Refunds
Once your Family Weekend registration has been completed and confirmed we are unable to guarantee that changes or additions can be made to your order. Likewise once an order has been confirmed we are unable to grant refunds or ticket exchanges. Should extenuating circumstances arise that prevent you or a member or your party from attending Family Weekend 2008, please contact us at 617.824.8680 or e-mail FamilyWeekend@emerson.edu at your earliest convenience and we shall make every effort to assist.
Confirmation
After you register on-line, you will receive an e-mail confirming your order. If you do not receive an e-mail, please contact our office at 617.824.8680 or e-mail FamilyWeekend@emerson.edu. The confirmation you receive via e-mail serves as your official confirmation. We recommend that you save this message and also that you print a copy of it for your records.
Ticket Pick-Up
For security and logistical reasons, tickets purchased through the Emerson College Family Weekend on-line registration process will not be sent through the mail. Tickets may be picked up at our Registration and Welcome Centers throughout the weekend. Times and locations of these centers are noted in our schedule of events. We strongly recommend that you check-in for Family Weekend immediately following your arrival to Boston so that you can participate in as many activities and events as possible. If you cannot come to a Registration and Welcome Center, your student may check-in for you and can pick up your tickets by presenting his or her student ID.
