Emerson College

Applying for a Student Employment Job

Emerson has two work programs for graduate and undergraduate students.  Just follow the necessary steps below and search for your job.  You'll be working in no time!

Students may apply for jobs online at http://ecampus.emerson.edu/jobs.  You must use your ECNet user name and password.  Once you're hired by a supervisor, the Student Employment staff will verify that you have an I9 and W4 on file in the Office of Student Employment.  If you have these forms on on file, then you can skip to Step 3.

All students must have an I9 and W4 on file before they can complete a work authorization form online. Student Employment staff emails students who do not have an I9 and W4 on file with instructions to bring identification to the Student Service Center (80 Boylston Street, the Little Building) to complete these forms.  Some acceptable forms of identification include but are not limited to:

  • A US Passport
  • A US Driver’s License and a certified copy of your US Birth Certificate
  • A US Driver’s License and your original, non-laminated Social Security Card
  • Your Emerson College ID Card and a certified copy of your US Birth Certificate
  • Your Emerson College ID Card and your original, non-laminated Social Security Card

A complete list of acceptable identification can be found in the Student Employment Manual and Student Service Center.  Please be advised that we cannot accept faxes or photocopies of these documents; we can only accept originals.

Note: International Students must complete additional requirements before they can be employed.  View more information.

After your I9 and W4 are verified, your supervisor receives an e-mail stating that they can complete their portion of the work authorization form.  Once your supervisor does this you are emailed detailed instructions on how to complete your portion of the work authorization form.  To do so:

  1. Go to http://ecampus.emerson.edu/jobs
  2. Log in.
  3. Click the Jobs link on the left-hand side of the page.
  4. Click the Check Application(s) status link.
  5. Sign your work authorization form here.

Note: you may only begin working after you receive an authorization e-mail from the Student Employment staff. If a department/organization has a student work for them without authorization they jeopardize their student employment privileges.
