CAMPUS CENTER LOBBY

Description:

The Lobby serves as an informal meeting place where students can relax and meet friends between classes or before a meeting or event.  Check out the Media Wall while you're there, with four monitors showing The Emerson Channel and other network television stations.

CAMPUS CENTER MEDIA WALL

Description:

Located in the lobby of the Campus Center, the Media Wall consists of four monitors which can be set to different channels independently from one another or one channel can be set to all four monitors separately or as one image. Also wired into the system is a Blu-Ray/ HDDVD player, a DVD player, two auxiliary inputs, and a VGA input connection for a PC. Each monitor has a separate FM frequency that can be tuned in to using a radio or other mobile device with an FM receiver in order to listen to the audio.

Description:

The Campus Center Information Booth serves as your information headquarters and is the first service you will encounter as you enter the Campus Center. Here you can obtain information about Campus Center room reservations, Cabaret performance space requests, and Emerson's campus in general.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES COMMON DESK

Description:

Located on LL1 of the Campus Center, the Student Activities Common Desk serves as the primary resource for student organizations looking to access organizational offices or cubbies.

Patrons can also request one of the Campus Center’s three piano rooms, or use its copy and fax services through the Common Desk.

THE TERRACE

Description:

Accessible through the main floor, this is an outdoor space that is ideal for meeting friends and casual sitting.

Open when weather permits, the Terrace can be reserved as an adjoining component to the Multipurpose Room for events deemed appropriate for the space.

FUNCTION AND GATHERING SPACES

Description:

Emerson students, faculty, and staff with a valid College ID can reserve one of the many meeting rooms at the Max or Student Activities’ performance spaces such as the Multipurpose Room (main floor) or Cabaret (80 Boylston Street). There are several types of spaces available to accommodate a wide variety and scale of events.

Located on the main, 2nd and Lower Level 1 floors, six meeting rooms ranging in capacity from 10-30 people are available. The two largest rooms (#118; capacity of 20 people, and #L151; capacity of 30 people.) are each mediated with an LCD projector and audio/ visual system. These rooms are used for meetings, auditions, interviews and small read-through rehearsals.

The Office of Student Activities also oversees two performance spaces. The Multipurpose Room, located at 150 Boylston Street, can accommodate 55 people and is ideal for intimate performances, speakers, receptions or other small-scale events. The Cabaret, located at 80 Boylston Street, has a capacity of 120 seated or 200 standing and is ideal for larger performances, and rehearsals.

Other available spaces include the Cultural Center and the Resource Room.

THE STUDENT LOUNGE

Description:

Located on the 2nd floor of the Campus Center in the former East Café area, the brand new Student Lounge is available to all students.

The new Student Lounge features trendy décor; plenty of soft seating and high café tables; both a foosball and a bubble hockey table; an AxisTV display; and a gallery for displaying artwork from members of the Emerson community. The "living room-like" atmosphere of the Student Lounge is a perfect location for students to come together and relax.

QUIET STUDY LOUNGE

Description:

On the second floor, the Quiet Lounge is equipped with a mix of soft seating and tables and chairs for students to relax between classes or catch up on some work.

The Quiet Lounge is exclusively for quiet study and relaxation; it cannot be reserved for activities or meetings.

THE COMMONS CAFÉ AND C-STORE AT PIANO ROW

Description:

Looking for a bite to eat before your next meeting or class? Located on the 2nd floor, the café features a grill station, Panini sandwich shop, and pasta and Asian cuisine stations. Eat your meal or snack in the seating area overlooking the historic Boston Common.

Board Bucks and EC Cash are accepted.

THE OFFICE OF ATHLETICS AND PIANO ROW GYMNASIUM

STUDENT ORGANIZATION RESOURCES - MAILBOXES, OFFICE & CUBBIES

Description:

All recognized organizations have access to an organizational mailbox located on Lower Level 1.

Additionally, some organizations have office space on this floor, while other organizations may apply for a storage cubby to be allocated to them on a per academic year basis.

OFF-CAMPUS STUDENT LOCKERS

Description:

Lockers are available on a first come, first served basis for a $10 fee per semester. Off-campus students may opt to rent lockers for use while they are on campus. There are two locker locations within the Max, please note how and where these lockers can be rented.

  • A bank of twenty-four (12"W x 18"D x 36"H) lockers for which you will need to provide your own padlock are located in the corridor closest to Room # 211. This bank of lockers is managed by the Office of Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) and will be offered to off-campus graduate students on a space available basis. Students wishing to rent within this block should report to OCSS (Room #227) to complete a Locker Rental Contract.
  • A second set of fifty-eight (12"W x 18"D x 36"H) lockers with pre-set combination locks are located on the Max’s Lower Level 1. This bank of lockers is managed by the Office of Student Activities and will be made available to off-campus undergrads. Students wishing to rent within this block should read the Locker Rental Policy and go to the Lower Level 1 Common Desk to complete a Locker Rental Agreement.

AXIS TV

Description:

Students, organizations, or departments may request that approved flyers, event announcements, and other advertisements be posted to the active displays located in the Campus Center lobby and on LL1.

Ads must be for a confirmed, upcoming Emerson College-affiliated event or service and are not for personal use.

Ads can be submitted in the following formats:

Video formats: *.ASF, *.AVI, *.MPEG, *.MPG, *.SWF and *.WMV are supported.

Picture formats: *.BMP, *.EMF, *.EPS, *.EXIF, *.GIF, *.ICO, *.JPG, *.PNG, *.PSD, *.TIF, *.TIFF, *.WMF are supported.

CAMPUS CENTER PROMOTIONAL TABLE

Description:

Students, organizations, and departments wishing to promote an upcoming event, involvement opportunities, or conduct Student Life approved fundraising may request the Campus Center Promotional Table located in the lobby through the Information Booth or Student Common Desk.

CAMPUS CENTER COPY SERVICES

Description:

Copy machines for individual and student group use are located at both the Information Desk at the main level and at the Common Desk, downstairs at LL1. Copies are 10-cents each without a student group copy code, and 5-cents each with a copy code. Assorted color paper is also available upon request.

Description:

BULLETIN BOARDS

Description:

Individual students and organizations can request to post flyers and announcements on the bulletin boards located throughout LL1 of the Campus Center.

All materials must in compliance with the College’s posting policy, and must be approved and stamped by the Office of Student Life prior to being posted.

COMPUTER KIOSKS

Description:

On the main level of the Campus Center, four computer kiosks equipped with the latest web browsers, cd-rom drives, and basic computer software are available for students to access their Emerson ECmail and ECnet Account or browse the web.

Students may also use the kiosks at the Campus Center to print papers, meeting agendas, or other documents to a black and white laser printer located next to the kiosks. Students must swipe their Emerson College ID or ECcash card through the Print Release Station to be able to print.
