GLBTQ Student Life
Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer/Questioning (GLBTQ) Student Life is housed within the Division of Student Affairs, providing support services for GLBTQ students. The staff strives to enhance the quality of life for members of the GLBTQ community and their allies, recognizing that sexual orientation and gender expression work through and are influenced by race, ethnicity, gender, culture, age, class, faith, ability status, and other social characteristics.
The director of multicultural student affairs and GLBTQ services, and the advisor to the student organization EAGLE (Emerson's Alliance for Gays, Lesbians, and Everyone) provide consultation to students in the area of queer issues as well as offering educational, informational, and advocacy services.
The staff is committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive atmosphere in which all community members are valued and respected.
