Resident Assistant Selection 2013–2014
The Office of Housing and Residence Life invites you to participate in the upcoming Resident Assistant (RA) selection process for the 2013–2014 academic year.
We are looking for students who are sensitive to student issues and problems, yet are also able to confront difficult situations. An RA must be committed to residence hall life, and be able to build and maintain a positive community and healthy relationships with residents while dealing with conflict effectively. Leadership skills are also very important to initiate programs successfully. Finally, we need RAs who are enthusiastic, dedicated, assertive, responsible, and good motivators.
We don't expect candidates to be experienced in all of these areas, but we are looking for students who have the motivation and potential to become good RAs.
RAs are selected in the spring for the following academic year. The first step in the process is to attend an information session in December or January. At that point, the remaining steps in the process will be explained.
If you know anyone who you feel would be an excellent candidate for the RA position, please encourage him or her to attend an information session! We urge you to do the same!
