Starting college—or even just stepping onto campus for the first time— can feel overwhelming, but that’s why we’re here. Emerson staff, faculty, and fellow students are committed to helping student transitions go smoothly and helping you succeed.

When you come here as a new student, our enthusiastic Orientation Leaders will make sure you feel right at home as they greet families and show you where you'll be living. Students living in our residence halls will form fast friendships, and the Resident Assistants are here to guide you and make life easier. We’re here for parents and family members, too: When you drop your college student off, we want you know that they’ll be in good hands. We’ll answer any questions about the services we provide, and see how we can help you and your student navigate the transition to college life.

Change isn’t limited to day one at Emerson. We’re committed to creating experiences 365 days a year that empower students and reunite family members. The Emersion Program gives new students the tools to serve, lead, and network in our community. At Family Weekend every fall, students can take their families around campus, attend mini college sessions, and more.

No matter the transition, students and family members will find the tools to learn, grow, and succeed at Emerson.
