If you are interested in using your skills, talents and knowledge in order to effect social change, then the Office of Service Learning and Community Action is the place for you! SLCA provides resources, information, and guidance to help you identify community sites that capture your interest, advance your learning and further develop your social awareness and responsibility.

Co-Curricular Service refers to service that is related to but not directly linked to curricular activities. The SLCA office strives to incorporate a learning component or relation to Emerson’s majors into all service opportunities in some way, and therefore thinks of service with a student group, athletic team, or residence hall as co-curricular. Also included in this section are education /awareness-raising events, leadership development events, and one-time service through our office. Don’t be fooled, co-curricular programs are some of our most exciting and fun events!
