Information for Community-Based and Non-Profit Organizations
"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment
before starting to improve the world."
-Anne Frank
Emerson College’s communication and arts curricula prepare students to make creative and often tangible contributions to community-based organizations. These unique contributions include market research and public relations assistance, press releases, media products, theatre education, and many other arts and communication services.
If you have a volunteer opportunity that relates to our student's unique skill sets, you can post on our Volunteer Opportunity Databank.

Community Guide to Emerson College
The Office of Service Learning and Community Action wants to help you access college resources and find committed volunteers that will help you advance the mission of your organization, which is why we developed a Community Guide to Emerson College. This can help you understand the SLCA's mission and the ways in which we can connect you to the Emerson community. Download the Guide to determine whether your program would benefit more from working with a service learning course, a service work study student, or an Emerson student group. While you reflect on what type of service would complement your organization best, also consider the type of project in which our students would excel.
Topics in the Guide include Students' Skill Sets, Recruiting on Campus, Working with Service Learning Courses and Examples, Working with Community Service Work Study, Working with Internships, and Working with Co-Curricular Groups.
