Gary D. Gramigna

Instructor, practicum supervisor, Mr. Gramigna has been teaching the Swallowing and Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia) course since 1997. He also functions as a clinical expert in Medical Speech Pathology at the VA Boston Healthcare System and is presently the Lead Speech Pathologist.
Mr. Gramigna coordinates all aspects of the Speech Pathology program including Emerson College and other graduate student placements at the facility. He very much enjoys mentoring the next generation of clinical leaders in the field. He shares research interests in neurogenic communication and swallowing disorders in adults, emphasizing evidence-based practice in clinical work.
Mr. Gramigna has contributed to two multi-center randomized clinical trials funded through NIH, and has presented at annual meetings of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Dysphagia Research Society, and the Radiological Society of North America. He authored or co-authored articles on swallowing disorders assessment and treatment for Radiographics, GI motility online, Nature publishing, Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research, Annals of Internal Medicine, Dysphagia and the Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
