OPERATION IDENTIFICATION

What is Operation Identification?

Operation Identification is a nationally recognized theft prevention program that involves engraving property with traceable ownership information as well as marking your property by affixing a property Identification sticker which warn thieves that valuables are marked for identification purposes.

The Emerson College Public Safety Department promotes Operation ID to discourage burglary and internal losses. Property that is permanently marked is difficult to pawn or convert to personal use.

How Can I Participate in Operation Identification?

You may register your personal property by contacting the Public Safety Department at extension 8555 or 617-824-8555 to make an appointment. A sticker will be affixed to your property and all pertinent information will be entered into a searchable database maintained by Public Safety. You may also at this time sign out an engraver to mark your property.

Special hours will be designated following orientation in September and January.
