IT Temporary Workspace Lab Storage Policy
Emerson College offers many opportunities for computing on-campus either through computer labs or at computer kiosks. Because these computers are regularly shared among multiple users, files and data should never be saved locally on the lab or kiosk computers except for temporary purposes, such as printing or copying files to a long term storage solution. The lab computer hard drives are periodically deleted and as such it is the responsibility of the user to save and backup their data appropriately. The Help Desk has a guide to recommended storage solutions here. Emerson IT is not responsible for the loss of files due to power failures, computer hardware/software failures, network difficulties and/or users not frequently saving their work, or saving to inappropriate locations.
