Message from the Chair

The Department of Performing Arts is committed to training students for a career in the theatre, and for a life enlivened and enlightened by their understanding and mastery of their craft.

Our faculty has a breadth of experience in all aspects of the profession, from working in the professional theatre in a myriad of capacities and roles, to working with students of all ages in different learning environments, to using theatre to build community: we are here to guide and mentor and teach.

Our students are challenged intellectually and emotionally to understand themselves and their responsibilities to the world at large.  Through their coursework, through our productions, and through their relationships with our faculty, they will have the opportunity to explore their roles as artists and educators and to make decisions about how the theatre will help shape their lives in the future.
