Michael Kreutz
Voice Instructor (2002)
B.M., Indiana University

Michael Kreutz' experience is quite varied: singer (music theater, cabaret, opera); actor (some 70 shows); music director (over 40 shows); accompanist; and vocal coach. Michael has coached voice students for over 25 years, currently teaching at Emerson and at his studio in Boston.  Michael studied with many well-known teachers, including Gabriella Tucci (internationally famed opera singer), Dale Moore (long-time NATS president) and James King (of the Metropolitan and Bayreuth Operas). After arriving in Massachusetts, Michael changed his emphasis to cabaret and theater, becoming a graduate of the prestigious "Cabaret Symposium" where he coached with Cabaret & Broadway legends Julie Wilson, Margaret Whiting, Kay Starr and Carol Hall. On stage, Michael has portrayed Isador Straus in the National Tour of "Titanic"; the role of The Baker opposite 3-time Tony nominee Judy Kuhn in "The Baker's Wife"; and the role of Starbuck in the pre-Broadway production of "Moby Dick". Michael has music directed productions at the Emerson Majestic, The Lyric Stage, the Gloucester Stage and a special inaugural concert at the Boston Opera House. Michael's CD, "Since You Stayed Here" was reviewed in the national theater magazine, "Show Music", which called Kreutz "smooth-voiced" and praised the CD's "refreshing choices" and "good taste". Michael's students perform regularly in professional theater, cabaret and in concert, tour nationally and perform in New York and throughout the United States.
