Emerson Stage

Uncommon Women, and Others

Emerson Stage

By Wendy Wasserstein
Directed by Maureen Shea

When you are told you can do anything, be anyone, how do you decide? What path do you choose? Does it mean you must always lead? Six years after graduation, seven alumna of Mount Holyoke College meet for an impromptu reunion lunch and to relive their college days, measuring youthful dreams for the future against the realities they have found after graduation. Uncommon Women was the first play written by Wendy Wasserstein, whose body of work is credited with changing the way contemporary women were presented onstage.
