Invite the whole family to participate!

The Parents Leadership Council is designed to engage parents, enrich student experiences, and strengthen the College's financial foundation through enhanced communication and meaningful opportunities for parent involvement within the College community.
You can be an Emerson advocate in many ways:
- help to recruit new students
- welcome new families to EC
- attend Emerson events in your area
- support the Parents Fund or scholarship funding for students in need through the PLC Scholars Program
- host an event for local families to connect
- provide professional development support for students
PLC Priorities 2009-2010
Goals:
- Expand recruitment and participation through opportunities for parent involvement in PLC activities and events.
- Enhance and support parent networking in the development of mentoring and internship opportunities for students.
- Support completion of Paramount capital campaign through fundraising focus
- Continue support of diversity enrollment through PLC Scholars program and other means
Here's how:
Advance recruitment and participation
- Reach out to all PLC members to encourage active participation in at least one annual project
- Work with Emerson staff to establish a regional PLC model
Advance mentoring and internship opportunities
- Promote the online Career Services Emerson Mentor network with a minimum of 50 parents registered by May
- Work with Emerson staff to create a PLC Speakers series model for 2010-2011 rollout
Advance Paramount capital campaign
- Work with Parent Partners to recruit participation in "Take A Seat" initiative in October
- Develop and execute a specific plan to work with Parent Partners to solicit contributions to Paramount during the school year
Advance support of diversity enrollment
- Secure auction items for alumni scholarship auction
- Develop and execute specific plan with Parent Partners to solicit contributions for PLC Scholars, through PLC Emissaries, enhance recruitment, particularly of diverse students
